First offer for Olanrewaju

Offensive lineman Sadiq Olanrewaju of Salisbury (Conn.) Salisbury School is not an easy person to miss at 6-foot-6 and 280-pounds. However, up to this point he has managed to stay quiet about his recruiting process. That will likely start to change, as the big lineman recently picked up his first offer and is close to reeling in a few more.
Olanrewaju recently found out about his first offer from Virginia.

"I was pretty happy about it," he said. "I was honored. It's athletics and academics are both some of the best in the country. I am visiting in two weeks."
On his upcoming visit, he hopes to learn a little more about the program and school.
"I want to just learn about the University as a whole," said Olanrewaju. "I know of their top tier academics and athletics, which makes me happy, but I want to get a first hand feel of the whole environment."
As with most recruits, getting that first offer is always memorable.
"It feels great," he said. "I had no idea it would come this early, but nonetheless I am very happy."
Also showing serious interest now are Connecticut, Boston College, Rutgers, Maryland and Duke. Olanrewaju took a visit to UConn and plans to visit each of the other schools in the near future.
In between his visits, Olanrewaju is preparing for his senior season.
"I lift and run for the most part," he said. "I want to get stronger, faster and quicker and of course go to camps in the summer."
Olanrewaju, who is also being recruited as a defensive end by schools, has not scheduled any summer camps at this time and will wait until the spring to do so.
