First offer for Jersey lineman

After a position change from the defensive line to the offensive line, John Ferranto of Burlington (N.J.) saw his recruiting process get off to a slow start. But with a 6-foot-6, 270-pound frame, word is getting out regarding Ferranto, which also resulted in his first offer earlier this week.
"Recruiting has been going pretty well," said Ferranto. "A couple of schools stopped by expressing their interest in me. And according to my coach, Tulane called him and said that they are offering me."

Aside from Tulane, a number of other schools are also showing serious interest.
"Pitt and Duke both came in to my school twice, along with other schools like Boston College, UConn, James Madison, Old Dominion, Villanova and Bucknell."
Ferranto has already been able to visit a few of these schools.
"I have visited Boston College and UConn a couple different times and I went down to Duke earlier in the year," said Ferranto
The Jersey lineman will continue to stay busy in the coming months.
"I have several camps coming up," said Ferranto. "I'm pretty excited about starting everything this week with Temple, and then Pitt, Duke, Boston College, Bucknell, James Madison, Old Dominion and Villanova."
Ferranto knows that his performance at these camps will go a long way in deciding if more offers come his way.
"All the schools that came in said that since I didn't have much experience on the offensive line that I would have to come to camp and show that I can play there," said Ferranto. "I'm just trying to prove that I will be able to play at the highest level of football."
