First offer for Jersey CB

Junior cornerback Tre Bell of Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep has patiently waited for his first offer and on Wednesday he finally got the good news. With a visit from South Carolina at his school, the Gamecocks became the first school to pull the trigger with Bell.
"Coach Jeep Hunter came in to my school," said Bell, who is 5-foot-11 and 170-pounds. "I found out during lunch that they really liked me and wanted to offer."

Bell is already familiar with the Gamecocks after his former teammate, Sheldon Royster, signed with them last February.
"I think it's a great program with a great head coach," said Bell. "I know the weather is warm down there, so I would definitely consider that."
As can be expected, getting that first offer out of the way was very important for Bell.
"It feels like a relief to know that I have an offer after the long wait, but it makes me want to work harder now," said Bell.
With his first offer behind him now, Bell was asked if any other schools may be close to adding to his total.
"West Virginia, Rutgers, Wisconsin and maybe Notre Dame," said Bell.
When it comes to visits, Bell has an adjustment in his upcoming schedule.
"I think there is going to be a change with my LSU visit, and I'm going to check out Maryland that weekend instead," said Bell. "I'm still going to try to get out to LSU though. I'm going to Maryland on February 4th and West Virginia on February 11th."
