First offer for Capella

Nick Capella recently landed his first offer from California, and it's a big one especially since the 2015 offensive tackle hopes to make his decision in the coming months.

That timetable could change for the Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure standout if more programs get involved, but he's highly interested in the Golden Bears for multiple reasons and said he's taking a close look at the program.
"I've always liked Cal," Capella said. "The first college game I ever saw was when I went to go see Cal play Oregon. I've been talking to their o-line coach for a while now ever since our season last year. I've always been interested in Cal because of their good academics. They're going to be getting better and I like the new coaching staff. They called my coach and I got pulled out of class to hear about it. I was excited to hear about my first offer."
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound three-star offensive tackle said Oregon, Boston College and Northwestern are also staying involved in his recruitment, but other than those schools things have been relatively quiet.
Capella said many programs have stopped by the school mainly to see five-star quarterback Ricky Town and some of them have also gotten interested in him.
The three-star said he'd like to make his decision sooner rather than later, but he also doesn't want to make anything firm because others could get involved in the coming months
"I have that offer from Cal and a couple schools came by the school and said hi, but it's nothing too much right now," Capella said. "I'm considering everything but I'm taking it slow. My goal is to commit by the end of my junior year, at the end of the school year, that's when I want to decide where I want to go."
