First offer comes for Meadows

Numerous schools are watching Fredericksburg (Va.) James Monroe linebacker Stephen Meadows. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder has one offer and is getting plenty of interest from a handful of Division I programs.
"I've been offered by Towson so far," he said. "North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech are all telling me the same thing. They plan to keep in touch and be at my games this season. I plan to send out tape of my first scrimmage to all those schools. The only thing I've got to do is perform this year."

Temple is also looking at Meadows, but is interested in him as a tight end.
Do any schools lead for his services right now?
"It's too hard to tell. Coming from a small program, I'm just taking it in."
This season will be an important one for the Commonwealth linebacker as he opens the season on September 2nd.
"We have our first scrimmage on the 22nd and then our first game is in September," he said. "Our team is just starting to get in the swing of things and we're looking good.
"Of course, I feel I'm a lot faster and stronger. I also put on some good weight in the past year. I was 205-pounds last year and now I'm 227. I feel light on my feet and definitely ready to bust some heads."
