First offer comes for GA corner

Offer No. 1 has come in for a 6-foot-0, 185-pound cornerback Eric Simmons. The Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake prospect pulled the offer on Thursday. Who pulled the trigger on the cornerback?
"New Mexico offered on Thursday," he said. "It was a big surprise. It's really good. I really like the coaches there and they have really made me feel like a member of their team."

Simmons just got back from two more camps as well.
"I went to Indiana and Kentucky's camp," he said. "Both were really nice. I didn't really consider them at first, but they are good. Indiana didn't want to say too much until their other one-day camp is over with on the 23rd.
"Kentucky really liked me. Coach Joker Phillips is the one recruiting me and he told me that the defensive back coach liked me. I've got to wait until this week possibly Monday to see what they'll do."
At this point, one other visit is in the works right now.
"I'm going to try to make it out to New Mexico. I don't really know when. I'm also looking for other camps to go to. I'm done with camps for the foreseeable future right now."
