First offer comes for DE Talley

Offer No. 1 is in for Durham (N.C.) Hillside defensive end Anthony Talley. The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder pulled the scholarship on Tuesday and has numerous other schools showing interest.
"East Carolina offered me a full ride on Tuesday," he said. "I know a little bit about them from the info they gave me. I'm going to visit there Friday."

Meanwhile, other schools including Ohio state, North Carolina and others are showing interest.
"I really like North Carolina," he said. "I like their program, the school and coaching staff. I like the players and really like the weight room."
A versatile athlete, Talley placed fourth in the regionals in wrestling.
"I wrestle and box actually too," he said. "I'm going to start do competitive boxing.
"For wrestling, I came in fourth and I could do that in college, but most likely I'll focus on football."
Talley earned all-conference for football this past season. What stands out about him as a player?
"I would say it's my feet and footwork," he said. "I think my knowledge of the game is pretty good. I've been playing for four years now. I still want to work on my speed and footwork more, along with my power some more."
