First big offer for OT

Even in today's day of recruiting, where it seems like everyone knows everything about everyone, new prospects pop up. That's certainly the case with JerQuari Schofield. Schofield, 6-6 and 298 pounds, is an offensive tackle prospect from South Aiken High School in South Carolina. He received his first major scholarship offer today from the University of Tennessee. He attended their football camp and performed very well, well enough to get an offer.
"It was good and I really enjoyed myself," Schofield said. "I thought I did really well in all the drills and there was some excellent competition there. I was kind of expecting and hoping that they would offer me after knowing I performed so well."

So far Charleston Southern, Newberry and Gardner Webb have also offered him.
"I get letters from South Carolina and Clemson. I camped for a half day this past Monday at South Carolina. I thought I did pretty well there too.
"Tennessee was the team I kind of grew up a fan of. I mean I don't look down at South Carolina or Clemson, I just sort of always liked Tennessee the most. Coach (Phillip) Fulmer is a cool guy and I love the location. It's five hours from my house and that's not too far and not too close to home.
"Tennessee is my leader. I also like Alabama, South Carolina, Clemson, Wake Forest and Florida. But I think I want to make sure I slow things down and take my visits."
Schofield will camp at Alabama next weekend (June 21st) and hopes to surprise those coaches like he did the staff in Knoxville.
"That's the plan. That's what I am hoping for."
Schofield says he bench presses 315 pounds, squats 500 and power cleans 275.
"I have good feet, quick feet. I get off the ball well and get good pad level."
Schofield may also camp at Wake Forest this summer.
