Finley says West Coast schools lead

“I was getting it,” Los Angeles Manual Arts receiver James Finley, who is 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, said. Indeed, he was.
Finley is referring to his 85-reception, 1,504-yard and 14-touchdown performance as a high school senior.
“I was taking a lot of shots, but that’s how the offense works. I like it wide open like that. You can score from anywhere and still hold the ball if you need to.”
Finley is looking for a similar style of offense in college.
He’s already visited pass-happy Oregon State (Nov. 16), and has subsequent visits lined up to Oregon for Nov. 30, Washington State for Dec. 7 and Oklahoma for Dec. 14.
Oregon made a home visit on Sunday. Washington State is expected Monday evening and Oklahoma assistant coach Chuck Long is due in next week.
The West Coast schools have an advantage over Oklahoma prior to the official visits.
All but the Sooners have offered him a scholarship and he says he thinks he would prefer to play in the Pac10.
“I see myself playing in the Pac-10, because everybody passes the ball so much. But you never know. I’m just taking it as it comes.”
