Finley excited about decision

It’s been a very long and winding road for Compton JC (Calif.) wide out James Finley but things have come virtually full circle and the receiver committed earlier tonight to Oregon.
“I tripped to UTEP this past weekend and it was real nice,” Finley said. “I’m not going to lie, it was actually a lot nicer than I thought but Oregon is the place for me. That’s like my second home there and I just love everything about the school.

“I’m hoping to come in and make an impact right away. I’ll be out there for spring practice and everyone will be in the same boat because there’s going to be a new offense to learn since Ludwig left for Utah. Coach Belotti told me there’s a good chance he’s going to take over play calling duties and be both the head coach and offensive coordinator but it’s not 100%. He said he has so many guys calling him wanting that job so I’m just excited to get out there.”
Finley originally signed with Oregon two years ago but had his SAT red flagged and spent the past two years at Compton J.C.
“I have everything squared away this time,” Finley said. “There is nothing that will get in the way of me playing for Oregon. They have so much talent coming back it’s going to be scary how good our team can be. I just can’t wait to get started.”
