Finch waiting for more offers

Offers continue to come in for Richmond (Va.) Henrico linebacker Sharif Finch. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder is up to seven offers, but he is still waiting for his first one from a BCS school.
"I got James Madison and Norfolk State offers recently," he said. "I am going to the first Virginia Tech game this season, on Labor Day with Cequan Jefferson. I'm also hearing from Duke too."

Finch discussed what Virginia Tech and Duke have been telling him recently.
"They are going to come watch my first three games and after that I should know whether I'll get an offer," he said. "I think I should have more offers on the table by the third game as I'm hearing from Maryland, Virginia and Wake Forest too."
Finch still notes no favorites.
"I'm not going to say anybody is leading right now," he said.
"Everybody is even and I'm going to stay like that for awhile. I just want to go on visits and see the Saturday atmosphere at the schools, how it is on game day and how it feels to be there."
On the field, Finch and Henrico open the season next Friday.
"The defense this year has to step it up and dominate," he said. "I can tell that I'm getting better in my reads and blitzes. My speed is improving and I can cover a lot more ground."
Finch is looking to put together a big year because of his preparation.
"Last year I had 161 tackles, which was a school record," he said. "I've set a goal of 200 tackles this year. That's one of my goals."
