Filimoeatu makes his decision

Walnut (Calif.) Mt. San Antonio C.C. defensive end Bojay Filimoeatu found himself with all kinds of attention as colleges came through the school. The 6-foot-2, 255-pound prospect is athletic enough to play all along the defensive line and received several offers because of it.
After narrowing his list to a top three and making official visits to each campus, the three-star West Valley, Utah native recently made a decision as to where he will continue his football career.

"I committed to Utah State," Filimoeatu said. "I'm going home. I verballed to them on Sunday after I got back from my trip to Kansas State. There were three finalists. Iowa State and Kansas State were there along with Utah State."
The proximity to his hometown was a big reason for Filimoeatu choosing the Aggies.
"It's closest to my mom and dad," he said. "My mom and dad are getting to that age where they can't really travel as easily."
The coaching staff at Utah State made the biggest impact, though.
"The coaching staff over there is great too and it just feels like home," Filimoeatu said. "It feels like I'm not going to be there by myself. They're not just going to be my coaches but they're always going to be there for me for the rest of my life, especially (head coach) Gary Andersen and coach (Ilaisa) Tuiaki."
Since making his pledge to Utah State, Filimoeatu has let the other schools know of his decision. That has not stopped them from continuing to the recruit the No. 36 overall junior college prospect in the country.
"I let them know," he said of the other schools that offered him. "They're still trying to recruit me even though I've verballed. They're trying to get me before (signing day). My mind's made up, though. I'm an Aggie and I just can't wait to get over there."
