Aliquippa, Pa. junior defensive tackle Jaleel Fields hasn't pulled in his first offer yet. However, the 6-foot-2, 275-pounder continues to receive heavy interest from colleges across the country.
"I've talked to Michigan State in the last few days," he said. "I'm also in touch with Penn State, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Temple, Georgia Tech, Maryland and NC State.
"Colleges keep telling me they have to do paperwork, they aren't specifically saying offers yet."
Fields isn't claiming a favorite at this point in time, though he does plan to take at least one visit soon to Pittsburgh on February 2nd.
The lineman just returned from a showing at the U.S. Army National Combine.
"I did really well there," he said. "I learned a lot and I hope I'll be picked to play in the game next year."
As for the season itself, Fields had a solid year.
"We went to the state championship and lost by three," he said. "I played really well. I'm satisfied with what I did this year. I was all-conference both ways and defensive MVP for the conference. I was also all-state offensive lineman."
