Fields is a Ga. DE to watch for

One of the top defensive prospects in the Peach State for next season is Jalen Fields. Fields, 6-4.5 and 240 pounds, plays defensive end for Dalton (Ga.) High School. Last season he played tight end and this is his first playing on the other side of the ball.
"Jalen is a specimen," Dalton head coach Adam Winegarden said. "He's strong with some power. He's still learning the position and has all the tools to be a great player. His strength is on passing downs and he's still learning how to play the run. Jalen just needs reps."

Fields was injured earlier this season, sustaining a stinger. More than anything it has jus slowed him down. Through nine games Fields has recorded nine sacks. He has played well enough to get a lot of attention for college programs from across the country. He has received interest from Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, Florida, Oregon, Alabama and others.
"I sent off highlights of the first four games to a bunch of schools and I got feedback immediately. They all really liked him off of film. I suspect the offers will start coming in soon."
Fields has been to games this season at Georgia and Tennessee.
