Fields excited about next step

Jalen Fields is a defensive end prospect from the Peach State and one of the most coveted prospects from the state of Georgia. Last month he got his dream offer and Fields pulled the trigger with his decision.
"I committed to Georgia at their junior day," Fields said. "Man that felt great. They have a great coaching staff and it's a Christian environment. Athens is close to home. But the best part is that this is a dream come true for me because I have been a Bulldog fan since I was nine years old. I love Georgia. It was a no brainer for me.

"Now I can concentrate on football, academics and my senior season. I will be on cruise control and I very excited."
Fields says he is now close to 6-6 and 255 pounds. He put on 20 pounds of muscle since the beginning of last football season. He had a big time year, recording 78 tackles, 35 tackles for a loss and 10 sacks.
"I am a lot faster than people think I am. People think I am slow because of my size. I am a good pass rusher who is quick off the ball and fast on the edge. I also use my height and wing span to my advantage."
Fields also strongly considered Tennessee, Alabama, Florida State and Oregon.
