Ferrine to decide amongst four

Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep safety Leo Ferrine had three top schools, then he took his first official visit last month. He now has four favorites, and will visit his remaining top three schools before making a decision.
“I went to Rutgers and it impressed me,” he explained. “I was narrowed down to three schools, but they surprised me. After the visit I was down to four.”

Ferrine will visit Penn State on Jan. 16, Notre Dame on Jan. 23, and then Virginia on Jan. 30 before selecting a school. He will have one thing in mind while taking his visits.
“Just basically how the school will benefit me,” Leo explained. “I am looking at the major I select, because if sports don’t work out, I want to make sure the education will benefit me.
“I want to major in communications and they all have new buildings and academically they are good. I haven’t seen them all yet but the pamphlets I have seen look good. I will see for sure when I get on campus.”
Ferrine stands 6-foot-0, weighs 180 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds. He was a threat on the field as a senior wherever he was asked to play.
He scored 16 total touchdowns, including two fumble recoveries, one interception, one kickoff return, one punt return, one rushing score and eight touchdowns through the air. He had 47 tackles and four interceptions from his safety slot.
