Michigan State head coach John L. Smith added a key recruit to his first Spartan recruiting class, quarterback Stephen Reaves . Reaves talks about his decision in this feature.
"I visited Wake Forest, Louisville, Michigan State, USC, and Auburn," Reaves said. "I decided Michigan State is the best place for me."

"The system is great. And I'll have a chance to play early. Hopefully I can play as a freshman."

"I actually committed to Michigan State about a week before I visited USC (January 31). But I waited till after the USC visit to make it public."
The 6-foot-2 and 180 pounder from Tampa (Fla.) Plant threw for 1800 yards during his senior season. Reaves connected for 17 touchdowns and was intercepted just five times.
