Fauolo hears from new school

Three-star tight end Giovanni Fauolo had a terrific performance at the Rivals Camp Series in Las Vegas this spring but his recruitment has not taken off yet. Washington State was the first to offer but the Oakley (Calif.) Freedom standout said the Cougars have not been all that involved in the recruiting process lately. UNLV remains heavily involved - and is probably the frontrunner at this point and a new school could get in the mix soon as well.

WHAT'S NEXT?: The next step for Fauolo is to get started on his senior season, get a few games under his belt and sees where things stand in a month or so. Boise State is the new school that is picking up interest but the Broncos are recruiting him to play defensive end. Other than that new interest, Fauolo said it's been pretty quiet through the summer.
IN HIS WORDS: "I've really been interacting with (Boise State defensive graduate assistant Byron) Hout lately," Fauolo said. "He just wants to see more film on me from a defensive standpoint."
RIVALS' REACTION: Fauolo's options are limited right now with UNLV seemingly the only school that is seriously recruiting him at this point. Boise State could make up a lot of ground with an offer early in the season and Fauolo does not seem to be in a rush to make a decision. The love that UNLV's coaching staff has shown through the process could be big later on when Fauolo is ready to make a commitment and he could be a major early pickup for first-year coach Tony Sanchez and his staff.
