"Wisconsin offered me a scholarship," Faulkner said. "I'm interested in any college, but I have a top six list. Not in any order, it's Wisconsin, Purdue, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, and Ohio State."
Faulkner has been a varsity starter since his sophomore year when he was an honorable mention all-state selection. During his junior year he was named all-conference, all-county, and all-state as he helped lead his team to an 11-2 record and provided plenty of protection for quarterback Dustin Sherer who signed with Wisconsin earlier this month.
The 6-foot-4 and 315 pound Faulkner graded out at 95% blocking efficiency. He bench presses 275 pounds, squats 560, and has a 23" vertical jump.
Cody Faulkner's father Chris Faulkner played tight end for the Florida Gators, was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys, and played for the Rams, Chargers, and Bucs in the NFL.
"I've been invited to junior days at Purdue, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa, Illinois, UCLA, and Alabama," Cody Faulkner said. "And I got a letter today from Tennessee also asking me to go to their junior day."
Faulkner has visited three schools so far.
"I've been to junior days at Illinois and Purdue. And I visited Ohio State for a game."
So what are some of his future plans?
"I'm going to Wisconsin's junior day March 5 or 6," Faulkner said. "I'm going to a Michigan junior day, a Tennessee junior day, and a Notre Dame junior day. Michigan is this Saturday. Notre Dame is Feb. 27. Tennessee is March 12, and I'm visiting Alabama April 5. I'm going to Ohio State again too, I'm just not sure of the date.
Family ties have caused an early favorite to emerge.
"Florida is probably my favorite. I grew up a Gator fan with my dad playing for them."
