Fast-rising RB continues to shine

Running back Carl Winston (5-10, 205, 4.48) from Gardena (Calif.) Serra continues his outstanding senior season. He has one D-I offer on the table and if he continues to play the way he did last Friday there is no doubt there will be more in the very near future.
Winston had a huge night in limited opportunities. He rushed for 123 yards and scored three touchdowns on four carries. That's what we call production and making the most out of his opportunities.

Winston's stats could have been better, but he had a 50 yard pass reception for a touchdown called back.
In six games, Winston has rushed for 844 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 8.0 yards a carry. He's also doing the job as a pass receiver, racking up 12 receptions for 137 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 11.4 yards per catch.
On the recruiting trail, Winston has his first offer from San Jose State. UCLA invited Winston to their game against Stanford. He went, but could only stay for the first quarter, due to previous commitments.
Two other schools have also shown recent interest in Winston.
"My coach told me that Washington State is starting show a lot of interest in me," Winston said. "Fresno State came by the school to see me last Wednesday and the running back coach, (Tim Skipper} watched some film and said they will be calling."
As a junior, Winston rushed for 1,854 yards and scored 23 touchdowns, while averaging 8.96 yards per carry. He also caught 15 passes for 144 yards. His junior season performance was good enough for him to earn first-team all-CIF honors and to be selected League Offensive Player of the Year.
