Fast rising QB pulls trigger

Fast rising quarterback Jeff Tuel (6-2, 190, 4.63) from Clovis (Calif.) Clovis West wanted to make his college decision before his senior season so that he could put all his focus on his team. Tuel proved he is man of action and deed as he pulled the trigger today.
"I just got back from Washington State and I'm going to be a Cougar," Tuel said. "The big thing about Washington State was the people and the chemistry I had with the coaching staff, especially Coach Todd Sturdy who will be my quarterback coach and offensive coordinator."

"Another big selling point for me was the opportunity for early playing time," Tuel said. "I really like what Washington State is doing for the program."
"Washington State is adding seats and a skybox to the stadium," Tuel said. "The whole attitude of the program is changing and is rising and I wanted to be a part of that."
The scouting report on Tuel is he's a tremendous athlete with a very high ceiling. He is the kind of quarterback who is very much in vogue these days. He can make plays with his arm and his feet. He is also very smart and makes good decisions.
Obviously Tuel's best days as a football player are ahead of him and that is good news for the Cougars.
Tuel will be the second straight signal-caller from Clovis West to sign with a Pac 10 team. He backed up Cal freshman, Beau Sweeney in 2007.
Tuel chose the Cougars over another offer from Nevada. Schools such as Fresno State, San Jose State, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State and San Diego State all showed interest in the fast rising quarterback from Clovis West.
Good get for the Cougars.
