Fast rising prospect returns from Fresno State

One of the fastest rising prospects on the west coast is cornerback/wide receiver Jermaine Thomas (5-11, 175, 4.46) from Duarte, Calif. He took his first official visit to Fresno State this past weekend (December 8th).
"Fresno State was real nice," Thomas said. "It was cool.

"I like the coaches and the players. I took a tour of the campus and drove around the campus.
"I was tempted to commit, but the reason I didn't is I want to take other trips and see how they all work out."
"Next week (December 15th), I'm going to visit San Jose State because they want me to," Thomas said. "I'm also working on visits to Colorado State, Nebraska and Kansas."
"I will visit Washington State on January 12," Thomas said. "I'm not going to make a decision until I take all of my visits."
Most D-I schools are recruiting Thomas as a cornerback, but some also like his playmaking skills as a wide receiver. All schools will take advantage of his special team talents as a return man.
From his wide receiver position, Thomas caught 53 passes for 1,160 yards and scored 14 touchdowns. He also rushed for 347 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball this lockdown cover corner accounted for 58 tackles, eight interceptions and one fumble recovery.
Thomas brought one pick back 67 yards for a touchdown. He totaled 215 yards returning his interceptions. He also brought his fumble recovery back 70 yards for another touchdown.
On special teams, returning both punts and kicks, Thomas racked up 658 yards while scoring four special team touchdowns.
For his senior season performance, Thomas earned all-league honors on both sides of the ball. He was also all-league as a cornerback his junior season.
