Falzone schedules Syracuse official

Offensive tackle Lou Falzone out of Wyoming (Pa.) Wyoming Area used the holiday break to take visits to a handful of schools for baseball. The 6-foot-4, 284-pounder still holds a lone offer from Syracuse for football and has finally scheduled an official with them. Which way is he leaning towards?
"Over the holidays we went to a bunch of schools and all those coaches want him and love him, but they don't have much money to give like Syracuse does with a football scholarship," Lou's father, Angelo Falzone said. "We still plan on visiting one more school for baseball, West Chester, but I think things will be much clearer after he takes his official at the end of the month to Syracuse on January 27th.

"Right now it appears he is most interested in Syracuse because they've shown so much interest in him. The only problem is that they said he can't play baseball and I know that baseball is his first love."
Earlier this week, Rice named Falzone's recruiter Major Applewhite their offensive coordinator. Does that have any affect on the decision?
"Major has been calling every week and I personally called him to find out what happened," he said. "I know Lou was worried that Syracuse wouldn't be as interested if Major left, but I told him coach Wylie is the offensive line coach and he really wants you. So that doesn't appear to be a problem at all."
The two-star prospect has received football interest from a couple other schools although it appears to be waning.
"Temple's coach stopped by recently and invited us down this week for a visit. We were considering it especially since I'm a Temple grad, but they haven't gotten back in touch with us," he said. "Meanwhile, Pittsburgh had been sending a lot of mail, but we're not sure what's going on with them anymore."
The lineman finished just his second year of football by being named all-scholastic, all-conference, all-region and first team all-state. He was also nominated for the Big 33.
