Falzone commits to Syracuse

Offensive tackle Lou Falzone out of Wyoming (Pa.) Wyoming Area had been up in the air on whether he'd like to play baseball or football at the next level. The 6-foot-4, 284-pounder finally made his decision today and allowed his father Angelo to call Syracuse's Greg Robinson to give him the good news.
"My dad called them today when I was in class and told the coaches that I was committing," he said. "He told me that the coaches were very pleased and all of them got very excited when they heard the news.

"I'm planning to officially sign the papers tomorrow at 1 p.m. I thought about my decision the last couple days and talked to a few people. I figured out that I just like the fact that it's one big family there and I know they will treat me great for the next four or five years.
"All the coaches are great guys and I've got to say that coach Robinson is probably one of the best guys I've ever met. I also like Syracuse because they have a wonderful campus and great students."
Falzone plans to greyshirt meaning he'll enroll at Syracuse in January.
"I know I'm going to have to work hard," he said. "I haven't ever lifted weights in my life, but the next year and half will get me ready to get stronger."
The two-star prospect is relieved to have a decision behind him and looks forward to his next few years at Syracuse.
"It's a lot of weight off my shoulders to finally know what I'm doing," he said. "I've loved baseball all my life, but I feel this is the right decision for me. I truly believe that coach Robinson is going to turn the program around and hopefully we'll go to a couple bowl games before I leave."
Falzone plans to study either sports management or education in college.
