Fagan's recruitment likely to evolve this spring

Nadarius Fagan’s list of frontrunners reveals little. The Miami Southridge linebacker holds seven offers. Of those, he names five of them among his leaders. Every power five school from which he has an invite makes the list.

This isn’t exactly breaking news or some massive revelation, but, hey, it’s something.

“I don’t really have a favorite,” said Fagan, who recently visited LSU. “It’s more like a group. In no order, you have Alabama, LSU, Syracuse, Nebraska and USC.”

His approach is understandable. He’s yet to visit most of the schools from which he holds offers and plans to use the summer to rectify that. The three-star linebacker hopes to tour USC, Nebraska, Syracuse and make a return to LSU in the coming months. Those trips, he says, will provide a better idea of where each program stands.

Nebraska seems to be the latest addition to his list of favorites and, apparently, Lincoln has solidified itself as a stop on Fagan’s visit tour.

“I like the way Nebraska plays and the way the use the linebackers, so I want to get out there and at least see the school,” Fagan said."

WHAT’S NEXT: The picture of Fagan’s recruitment will likely begin to clear this spring, as some classes fill and new offers arrive. His official visit schedule is likely to include LSU and Nebraska, but things beyond that are difficult to predict.

IN HIS WORDS: “I’ll probably wait until after my senior year to decide,” Fagan said. “Waiting just seems like it’s better for me. It seems like it will make sure it’s the best decision.”

RIVALS REACTION: The spring will dictate the direction of Fagan’s recruitment. USC and other schools will be in to further evaluate the Florida-based linebacker. At that time, they’ll decide how hard to pursue. If Fagan remains a priority for USC, the Trojans, along with LSU, are likely the favorites to land him. If not, another school on his list or a program that is yet to offer could sneak in and become a major player. Nebraska is a team to watch as it relates to Fagan’s recruitment.
