Ezeudu talks top three, future plans

Joshua Ezeudu went through the summer thinking he would be committed before his senior year. Things don't always go as planned and the 6-foot-5, 300 pound offensive tackle out of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer as the regular season nears an end, Ezeudu remains uncommitted.

He is in talks with numerous schools and three have pulled away from the pack.

"I am liking Syracuse, Connecticut and Missouri the most right now," said Ezeudu. "I like each of those schools overall, I have done research and I like their academics and plus they have good sports programs.

"I just like the overall school. Every school is a little different, but based on talking with the coaches and what I have found doing my research, each could be a good place for me.

"I know I will take official visits to all three."

The only official visit he set up right now is to Missouri on the weekend of December 9th and he is in discussions with Connecticut for an official visit there late in November.

Despite not stepping foot on any of campuses in his top three yet, Ezeudu has kept up them by watching them play on TV and through speaking with the coaches.

"I really like coach [Glenn] Elarbee, the offensive line coach from Missouri," said Ezeudu. "We have a good relationship and he is cool to talk to. He is chill and we have some great conversations.

"I have seen them play and I like their offense. I watched them play Georgia recently and I can see a lot of potential. Their offense can score points and they are close.

"With Connecticut, I saw they beat Temple and that was a big win for them. I like how some of their coaches came from the south, like Auburn. I have connected with coach [Rhett] Lashlee. He is a great guy and we talk a lot.

"Syracuse is really playing well right now. Their quarterback [Eric Dungey] is making a lot of plays and I like what I see when I watch them. You can see coach Dino Babers has them playing at a high level.

"I can see them winning a lot of big games in just a couple of years. They seem to be on the edge of turning into a big-time football team."

Ezeudu has held offers from from the Huskies and Tigers for some time, but the Orange just offered a few weeks ago. Wide receivers coach Kim McCloud is the lead recruiter.

With visits on the horizon for Ezeudu, he has started thinking about making his decision. He is not ruling out a signing day decision, but if he feels he has found his future home, he could act on those thoughts at that moment.

"I am probably going to take a visit to each of my top three schools, then commit, but if I feel like I want to be there when I am on a visit, I will end it then," said Ezeudu.

"It will come down to how comfortable I feel, what my parents think and just how I feel I can do at the school when I make my decision."
