Ezeff pulls the trigger

Cal added more skill to an already talented class in landing Santa Rosa (Calif.) Montgomery two way standout Marcus Ezeff. Ezeff chose the Bears over Oregon.
"It really came down to two things," Ezeff said. "One was the degree from Cal. You can't beat that and I don't know if I'll be playing football forever so a Cal education will take me a lot of places. The other thing was just being closer to home. It's such a place to have my family around. Cal is a great program right now and I'm excited to be a part of Coach Tedford's program and what they're building right now."

Ezeff, 5-11, 175 pounds is a strong contender for Mr. California Football after excelling at both receiver and safety and leading Santa Rosa to an undefeated season. He caught 36 balls for 835 yards and 13 touchdowns on offense along with 20 tackles and two interceptions on defense.
"I'm coming in as a free safety and I think I'll have a chance to play early," Ezeff added. "They lose two free safeties so I've heard there's a good chance an incoming freshman or JC player could get the starting job there. That's another big plus. Like I said, there really wasn't any negatives with Cal and I'm excited to be a part of it what they're doing."
Ezeff said he had a visit set with Oregon for January 7 but has since canceled it and is a solid commitment.
