Exposure from teammate to help OL

When you have a Rivals100 member and one of the best players in the state of Texas on your team, the college coaches are going to be in the stands. That's at least what Mesquite (Texas) Horn offensive guard Drew Chasney hopes.
He's teammates with four-star running back Mon Williams, and the exposure that Williams is getting hopefully will help Chasney build his own recruiting resume.

"It's truly a blessing to block for a guy like that," Chasney, who is 6-foot-1 and 296 pounds, said. "He gives the offensive line so much publicity and so much credit. It's great blocking for him. He is without question one of the best runners in the country.
"I've been on the same team with him since the seventh grade. He doesn't take all the credit for everything. I know he's always going to be doing his job, and he knows that I'll do mine. At the end of the season when all those yards have been racked up, we all sit back and know that we did a good job."
Just like Chasney has been doing a good job on the recruiting front.
While he's yet to land his first scholarship offer, he's camped at Mississippi State with Tulsa and UTEP. He's scheduled to be at Texas A&M soon and is planning on also taking a visit to Texas State in San Marcos.
"I had a blast at Mississippi State," he said. "The coaches are great, and I got a lot out of the camp. Hopefully as the season moves along something will come out of that. I also went to Tulsa for one day. That was all right. I don't know because it's kind of a smaller school, so it was something different.
"I went to UTEP's satellite camp in Dallas, and that went really well. Texas State called on the last day that they could in May and they really want me to come down to their camp. Hopefully something will come of that."
In the mean time, Chasney is working hard at becoming a better player.
"I'm just trying really hard to get my speed down," he said. "That's a big key for me, along with getting bigger, stronger and faster."
