Everson names three favorites

As Detroit (Mich.) Mumford defensive back Cedric Everson sees his scholarship offer total rise, competition for his services continues to rise.
"I have about 35 offers now," Everson said. "Georgia Tech, UCLA, Florida State, USC, Michigan State, Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Iowa, Ohio State, Missouri, Penn State -- those are some of them."

Everson said he has not narrowed down the field, but has visited some of the schools on his list.
"I've been to Georgia Tech, Florida State, Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State," he said. "I'm going to try and get out to UCLA and USC."
Everson plans to make his official visits before he selects a college.
"I'll take official visits," he said. "I'll take all five. I'm not sure who I'll visit yet."
But Everson does have a few leaders.
"Georgia Tech, UCLA and Penn State are my favorites," he said.
"I love Georgia Tech. I like downtown Atlanta. I'm a city guy.
"UCLA? It's California. What more can you say?
"I talk to the Penn State coaches. They seem like nice guys. They know what they are doing."
The 5-foot-11 and 155-pound Everson has been a starter at both cornerback and wide receiver since his sophomore year. Everson made 55 tackles and intercepted 12 passes during his junior season. He accounted for over 1600 all-purpose yards.
