Even more interest in Muhammad

Khalfani Muhammad is off to a strong start in his junior season and more important to him Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame is 3-0 after struggling last year so things couldn't be going much better for the 5-foot-7, 160-pound all-purpose back.
"We've been playing good," Muhammad said. "We're playing as a team this year. We're coming along and all we can do is get better. We were already at the bottom of the list so we couldn't go much further down.
"I think I'm running pretty well. There are some things I need to work on and once I get those down I think I'll be unstoppable."
Not only is Sherman Oaks Notre Dame doing well but so is Muhammad's recruitment since even more programs are showing interest in him early this season.
Muhammad, who shined at the Los Angeles Under Armour Combine in the spring, already has offers from UCLA and Washington and he said Alabama, Oklahoma, Cal, Texas A&M, Arizona, Colorado, San Diego State, Duke and many others have gotten involved.
"I get stacks of mail now," Muhammad said.
"There are so many schools showing me interest and sending me letters but no new offers yet. I know they can't call me much yet. We'll see in the future who comes through."
With all that new interest, Muhammad said he's keeping his recruitment open and added it's much too early to start naming favorites.
He's been to some UCLA games this season and has been invited to Washington and other places but said it's difficult to take unofficial visits during the season.
There is a lot of time left for Muhammad to figure out which program is best for him but it's becoming clear that he could have lots more options if he continues to play so well this season and next.
"I'm keeping all options open," Muhammad said. "No particular school is looking good right now. I just want to see which school is the best fit.
"I've been going to the UCLA home games and Washington invited me to some games but I can't make it out. I've been getting a lot of invitations to games."
