Evans weighing options

River Ridge (La.) John Curtis linebacker Nathaniel Evans has received offers from across the region and continues to receive interest from the SEC.
His most recent offer arrived from Houston a couple of weeks ago after a strong camp performance. He plans to return to Houston for a closer look at the program.

"Actually I'm going to Houston Saturday after practice," Evans said. "We have a little scrimmage so I'm going to head up there and I'm excited about that. My parents are going to come out there to see the school. It will be my first time getting a tour of everything and sitting down with all the coaches and stuff like that."
The Houston offer caught his attention and the Cougars have remained in close contact. Offers from Louisiana Tech, Arkansas State, and ULM have also piqued his interest since all four programs have recruited him heavily throughout the process.
Evans continues to weigh his college options, and he admits he has thought about making his decision. However, there is one very good reason why he has not decided to make a commitment at this point.
"To be honest I kind of have been thinking about making a decision soon, but then again it's very hard because I still have Mississippi State and other schools still talking to me and things like that and waiting for the season and wanting to see me in the season," Evans said. "Once I commit, I'm committed. That's just what I believe in. Even if another school comes in and I like them if I've told a school I'm committed I have to stick to my word. That's why I've been patient."
Evans is currently ranked No. 44 in the Rivals.com Louisiana Spring Top 50 for 2016, and he has received scholarship offers from Army, Houston, Kent State, ULL, Southern Miss, Texas State, Troy, Tulane, Arkansas State, ULM, and Louisiana Tech.
