"All the schools were great schools, I just had to pick the best school for me," Evans said. "Alabama was the best for me football-wise and pursuing my academic career."
Evans, a 6-foot-3, 218-pound outside linebacker, is the No. 14 player overall in the country and is the highest-ranked linebacker in the nation. He chose the Crimson Tide over Auburn and UCLA.
Evans took an official visit to Alabama on Jan. 17, the week before his visit to Auburn and took an official visit to UCLA in September. Evans was a standout at the AL-MS All-Star Game and at the Under Armour All America Game. He is the sixth five-star prospect to commit to Alabama, joining defensive end Da'Shawn Hand, defensive backs Tony Brown and Marlon Humphrey, offensive lineman Cameron Robinson and athlete Bo Scarbrough.
