Evans is No. 5 for Badgers

There is no team in the Big Ten that has gotten off to a faster start in the 2014 class than Wisconsin, and the Badgers continued that momentum on Tuesday with the addition of another in-state commitment.
"I just committed today," reported Sun Prairie, Wisc., defensive tackle Craig Evans. "I was just talking to Coach Bielema today and he was telling me how most of the positions will be available for me when I got there. That played a big role in it, and then being close to home."

Evans told Rivals.com he was close to committing to the Badgers over the summer before ultimately deciding it was too early. After attending Saturday's game in Madison, however, Evans knew what he wanted to do.
"The environment at Wisconsin is crazy good," Evans stated. "There are so many caring people and I don't think you can find a better environment."
Evans also held offers from Michigan State, Nebraska and Pitt and had strong connections to the south, but is confident he found his college home.
"I really had no reason not to go to Wisconsin," Evans said. "It will be a good fit for me."
Evans is the fourth state of Wisconsin prospect to pledge and fifth overall commitment for the Badgers in the 2014 class.
