Evans could be top WR in the West

It's looking like a very deep and talented year for wide receivers in the Golden State this coming year. One player who could be the best of the crop is Inglewood's (Calif.) Shaquelle Evans, who continues to rack up the offers by the day.
Evans, 6-2, 190 pounds is one of the elite prospects in the nation this year. He has every tool you're looking for in a receiver including plus size, speed, hands, the ability to make the tough catch as well as the ability to run after the catch. As a junior, Evans caught 40 balls for 705 yards and eight touchdowns to earn all-league and all-region honors.

When you add Evans' 3.5 GPA and his 1230 SAT score and you can see why the athlete is being recruited by just about everyone.
Oklahoma is the latest offer for Evans joining schools like Cal, Colorado, Oregon, Notre Dame, USC, UCLA, LSU, Arizona and Arizona State.
"My top five right now would be USC, UCLA, LSU, Oregon and Cal," Evans said. "It's early though and I'm still open to everyone recruiting me. I'm not planning to make an early decision. I want to go through the process and take my visits.
"I'm looking for a school with a strong program- I want to play for a winning team for sure. I also want to be somewhere that I'll be comfortable with my surroundings and just the best overall fit athletically and academically."
Evans will attend the SoCal NIKE Camp in April as well and said he would like to major in Business in college.
