Estopinan has pick, will wait

One of the nation’s top linebacker prospects says he’s got a pretty good idea of where he’s headed for college.
The football world will have to wait a couple of more days for that news, however, as he plans a signing day announcement.

“I think we’re going to do it at 10:30 in our school library,” said four-star Miami (Fla.) South Miami linebacker Javier Estopinan. “It’s going to be between Ohio State and Florida. I think I know which one, but I want to wait to announce it on Wednesday.”
Any clues about that decision?
“Well, I can’t really say,” he said with a laugh. “It would probably give it away.”
Asked what he liked most about the Buckeyes and Gators, Estopinan said:
“As you may know, Ohio State is a place I’ve been to many times for wrestling camp. I am comfortable with their campus and the people there. I feel like I fit in.
“With Florida, it’s close to home. That’s probably the big thing, but they also have a situation where they need players at my position. I think I’d have a chance to play earlier there.”
Clemson and N.C. State were also in the running for his signature until recent weeks.
Estopinan (6-3, 230, 4.6) is rated the No. 12 inside linebacker in the nation by Rivals.com. As a senior, he recorded 112 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and five sacks.
