Kevin Estes had some unforeseen issues come up recently as wildfires ripped through his area but he and his family are fine and recruiting is back in focus after some tense times.
One Pac-12 powerhouse is showing more interest and the San Marcos, Calif., offensive lineman is excited to hear from them.
"The only school that's really talking to me a lot more is USC," Estes said.
"They added me on Facebook, they said they wanted to see me at camp and their offensive line coach came down to watch me practice. It's definitely interesting.
"That's what my coach told me about going to camp. He said they only really offer if you go to camp and they really evaluate you. I will probably go there."
The 6-foot-6, 273-pound prospect has had an outstanding spring as he's landed offers from across the country.
So far, the San Marcos recruit has been offered by Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, BYU, Cal, Colorado State, Duke, Nevada, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Utah, Washington State and Wisconsin.
More offers could definitely come this summer because Estes is charting out a busy summer schedule. No set plans have been made yet but the offensive lineman wants to get out a lot and possibly land more interest.
"I'm going to try to hit as many camps as I can," Estes said.
Things have happened fast for Estes but a few frontrunners have emerged. He's not prepared to name any top schools but things are taking at least a little bit of shape.
"I have a couple schools I have in my mind as of right now but I don't really have my list made," Estes said.
"There are like eight of them that really look good but there's no real lead standout yet because I haven't done enough research."
