Epps enjoys VTech, FSU is next

Defensive end Dedrick Epps out of Richmond (Va.) Huguenot recently got back from a junior day visit to Virginia Tech. However, there's no rest for the weary as the standout is headed down to Tallahassee, Fla. for a visit to Florida State.
"We walked through the weight room, they showed us their highlight film, we got to meet the staff and we watched practice for two hours," he said. "I really enjoyed the practice and watching them hit, I also really liked their weight room too. I think the coaches were great and really cool."

So where does that put the Hokies in the hunt for his signature?
"The visit puts Virginia Tech in the top five for me," he said. "I just really enjoyed it and had a good time."
The 6-foot-4, 227-pounder is headed to Florida State tonight through Sunday for a visit.
"They have always been one of my top schools," he said. "I just want to see what they have down there and I like the warm climate they are in. They are another school in my top five."
Who else is at the top of Epps list?
"The other schools I'm looking at are Miami, Southern Cal and Michigan," he said. "I like Miami for the warm climate and most of the players are really fast and that kind of leads me to them.
"I like Southern Cal because they were national champions the last two years and that's the reason to go there. I like Michigan just because they have a great football team."
After his visit to Florida State, Epps plans to head to the Penn State Nike Camp on April 30th.
This summer he's planning to attend camps at Penn State and Miami.
Epps was named first team all-dominion district, second team all-region and honorable mention all-metro as he posted 15 catches for 233 yards and three touchdowns. He added 98 tackles on defense, three interceptions and four fumble recoveries.
