Ennis going big in 2013

San Antonio (Texas) Madison quarterback Cody Ennis continues to post big numbers and the Madison Mavericks continue their winning ways.
Madison is a proud program with a long tradition and with Ennis as the trigger man in its potent offensive attack the Mavericks have moved to 10-3 on the season and moved another round in the playoffs closer to a championship.

"We started off the season with a bang, beating Steele, and then we had a couple of losses along the road, but it seems like every week we've bounced back and we've been playing pretty well these past few weeks," Ennis said. "We have Judson this week. This will be our toughest game so far for sure. So I'm really happy we're still playing in the fourth round, and hopefully we can play a couple of more weeks."
Ennis has thrown for just shy of 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns while completing 59-percent of his passes with only 5 interceptions.
"It was one of my main goals over the summer and offseason to come back as strong as possible," Ennis, who suffered a broken collarbone as a junior, said. "It's my senior year, this is my last chance to get recruited by colleges so I just wanted to make sure I was playing the best I could. I think I am along with my teammates. It's not just me out there. I can't do anything without them - the o-line and receivers. The entire team helps me out and when they're playing good I'm playing good so I'm really happy with the season so far."
The 6-6, 240-pound standout entered the season with an offer from Central Arkansas, but a few more have come on during the season.
"I've been talking to a couple of other 1-AA programs," Ennis said. "I know coach Streety told me he's gotten calls from some colleges, some other D1s, and he told me to just focus on the season and when the season is over that's when I was going to sit down and see if I could schedule some visits. So I'm not really worried about that much right now. I'm just trying to focus on the season and when the season is over that's when I plan to hit recruiting real hard."
While he is not focused on recruiting, he has picked up an offer from Incarnate Word, and he has been in communication with Montana State, Houston Baptist, and Colorado State.
Ennis has also rushed for 784 yards and 17 touchdowns on 137 carries
