English remaining patient

In the past month, Richmond (Va.) St. Christopher's defensive end Jack English has taken a pair of visits. However, the 6-foot-6, 250-pounder is still waiting for his first scholarship.
"I've been pretty busy with baseball," he said. "But, as far as football is concerned I went up to Boston College a month ago and then Virginia a little bit after that.

"Boston College was great. I got to look around the campus. I met their new defensive line coach and talked to a couple other coaches. They preached about where they were and where I was and how we'll go from there.
"As for Virginia, it was sort of a similar situation. I talked to Coach Reid and Hanson. Both schools will probably be down for spring practice."
English has no plans to take visits before summer because of baseball season.
The lineman noted he plans to get out for a number of camps, as most schools want to see more of him in person.
"As of right now, I'm planning to go to Virginia, Boston College, North Carolina, Maryland and Stanford maybe for camps."
Despite the rising interest, English states no favorites.
"I'm enjoying the process a lot, getting to know the coaches," he said. "It's been good, but right now I don't really have any favorites. I'm just waiting to hear back from any school that is interested and I'll work from there."
