Matthew Melton has offers from Texas A&M, Arizona, Purdue, Baylor, Southern Methodist, Texas Christian and Tulane and has been hearing from Texas, Nebraska, Tennessee, Michigan State, Iowa, Missouri, UCLA and West Virginia.
He has also begun hearing from Notre Dame and Florida State.
He has eliminated Iowa and Michigan State pretty much from the running.
He has no official visits set up yet and said, "I'll make my decision after taking all five visits, which will put the decision date sometime in December or January probably."

Texas - "I like the coaches, the facilities and it's a program on the rise."
Notre Dame - "It's my favorite, my parents' favorite and the tradition is great. It's also one of the top academic programs in the nation."
Texas A&M - "The defensive back coach is good and they have a great engineering program there."
Tennessee - "They have a good football team and fans there."
Purdue - "They also have a good football team and the top engineering program in the nation."
Matthew will play his first game August 31st against Katy High.
