It was down to Georgia and Georgia Tech, the two in-state schools before Kingley Enagbare took a visit back to Columbia (S.C.) last weekend.
At one time South Carolina was the favorite, early in the spring, and the recent visit pushed the Gamecocks back to the top.
"I have committed to South Carolina," said Enagbare.
Enagbare informed the South Carolina coaches of his decision Tuesday night and decided to make it public Wednesday evening.
The 6-foot-4, 255 pound defensive lineman out of Atlanta (Ga.) Hapeville Charter has visited South Carolina numerous times and it is the coaches and the feeling he has there that put them over the in-state schools.
"I just feel at home there. I have always felt wanted there, they treat me great and they always welcome me. It is just that home feel and it is because of the coaches.
"I like coach [Lance] Thompson (defensive line) a lot and we have a great relationship. I know I can talk to him and he is a good coach. Coach [Will] Muschamp has always made me feel important too. He is a defensive coach and I like the way he coaches."
