Redondo Beach (Calif.) Redondo Union athlete Kevin Ellison took his second official visit of the year this past weekend to USC. Despite having a great time, Ellison said he still plans on taking his last two visits and doesn’t claim a leader at this time.
Ellison, 6-1, 215 pounds visited Colorado (Nov 12) and said his recent visit to SC compared very favorably.
“I had a great time,” Ellison said. “The game was the highlite for me. It was close at the beginning but then SC just took off. They’re so strong and do such a good job in the second half of games. The stats are pretty amazing in how dominant they are in the second half of games. That shows how strong their coaching staff is, they make great adjustments every game.
“I have been to SC a lot of times so I really didn’t see anything new. I feel like I really know the school well already. Thomas Williams was my host and I hung out a lot with Lawrence Jackson too. Both were great guys, all the players are though, they’re really humble and just regular people off the field. The coaches are great too. They're recruiting me as a safety so I watched some film on how they use their safeties and I think I would fit in real well in their defense.
“Right now, I’m still planning to take my visits to Oregon State (Dec 3) and Cal (Dec 10). This whole recruiting process, I’ve really tried to keep an open mind about things and that’s still how I’m handling it. I really don’t have a leader right now, without seeing all the schools, it would be tough to say I like one school over the others. When I’m done with my trips, then I’ll be able to compare and say which school stands out the most but I just don’t know right now.”
