Ellison impressive in game action

We had a chance to take in the Redondo Union (Calif.) – Rolling Hills (Calif.) Peninsula game last Friday to check out two of the state’s top prospects. Kevin Ellison (Redondo) and Eric Lorig (Peninsula) were both very impressive and showed they’re as good as the hype they’re getting.
Ellison, 6-0, 214 pounds stars at both running back and linebacker and looked good on both sides of the ball. The athlete rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns and made several nice plays on defense as well but the Seahawks came up just short 35-33.

“It was a tough loss, this one hurt a lot,” Ellison said. “We were playing for first place and I thought we had a great chance at the end of the game. I didn’t sleep that much that night but I’m cool now, there’s a chance we could see them again in the playoffs and that would be great if it happens.”
On the recruiting front, Ellison will take his first official visit next weekend to Colorado. He also has trips lined up with USC (Nov. 27) and Oregon State (Dec. 3).
“I’m keeping that 5th trip open right now,” Ellison said. “The four schools I have visits with are the main four I’m looking at and I really don’t have a leader right now. USC is recruiting me at safety, the other three all like me at linebacker. My plan is to take my four trips and then make my decision sometime in December.”
