Ellison has pair of NW offers

One of the top safety prospects in the West region is Redondo Union's (Calif.) Kevin Ellison . Ellison looked very good at the recent NorCal Nike Camp and has seen a nice bump in his recruitment.
Ellison, 6-1, 211 pounds is a two time all-area selection and earned second team all-state Underclass honors as a junior. He made 101 tackles on defense while rushing for 1,402 yards and 12 touchdowns at running back. He's getting recruited as a safety but if he continues to get bigger, we could see him getting time at outside linebacker at the next level.
Ellison is one of those players who will never run a great 40 but has good game speed. He plays much faster on the field than his 40 times and covers a lot of ground. At the Nike camp, he looked very comfortable in the one on one drills and might have been the best cover safety we saw at the camp.
Ellison's older brother Keith signed with Oregon State last February and we think Kevin is an even better overall prospect.
"Oregon and Oregon State have both offered me and I'm hearing from the rest of the Pac 10 as well," Ellison said. "The local schools USC and UCLA are my top two right now followed by Oregon, Oregon State and Arizona. My brother being at Oregon State is a plus for them but it won't be a major factor in what I decide to do. I'm just looking for a school with a good overall program athletically and academically."
