Ellis to take September trip

Recently rivals.com announced that Byron Ellis (6-1, 195, 4.55) from Venice, Calif., is seeing his stock move in an upward direction and that he had received an offer from a Big 12 power. The plot thickens and his recruitment is being expedited.
The Big 12 power that offered him was Colorado and now the Buffaloes are tripping him the weekend of the UCLA game on September 6th.

Ellis received his first offer from CU’s Rocky Mountain neighbor Wyoming.
Ellis is also very interested in Arizona. Ellis took an unofficial visit to Arizona and he liked the Tucson campus a lot.
Stanford, UCLA, Cal, USC, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Nebraska, Colorado, Fresno State and others are in the recruiting fray.
Ellis, a great student, is also hearing from the Service Academies and Ivy League schools.
Ellis possesses great vision and has outstanding quickness. When Venice runs the football (Venice is predominately passing team), more than likely it is Ellis carrying the load. Ellis has deceptive speed and known as “football fast”.
Ellis improved on his football skills by attending the Beyond 2000 Elite Camp this past June where he displayed outstanding pass catching skills to go with his running ability.
Ellis was selected first-team all-league and second-team all-city as a junior after rushing for 1,329 yards and 12 touchdowns.
