Ellis to announce soon

San Jose (Calif.) Andrew Hill running back A.J. Ellis was one of the state's top 'backs this past season. The athlete has narrowed his choices to two and will likely announce his choice at the end of the month.
Ellis, 5-11, 170 pounds is a player we thought of more as a defensive back prior to this season. He had a breakout season rushing for 1,557 yards and 23 touchdowns and is easily among the top players in the Northern CA area.

On the recruiting front, Ellis took December visits to Fresno State and Wyoming and has a clear leader at this point.
"I really like Fresno State a lot right now," Ellis said. "It's them and Wyoming but I've pretty much decided on Fresno State and just want to wait until after their Bowl game December 31 before announcing anything.
"I had a great trip there and really liked everything about the school. They have a great coaching staff and everything on the visit was so organized and well put together. I like their offensive scheme a lot and how they use their running backs.
"They see me in a similar role as Clifton Smith, kind of a slash position where I'll be able to line up all over. I also like the opportunity to play early at Fresno State and the fact that the school is close to home is just another added bonus.
"It would be cool if they can come up with a big win in the Bowl game, that would really solidify things in my mind. Then I plan on making the call pretty quickly after that."
