Ellis returns from Virginia

Hampton (Va.) Bethel defensive end Chris Ellis took his second official visit this past weekend. How did he like Charlottesville, Va. and what he saw of the Virginia football program?
“I was hosted Darryl Blackstock and I had a really good time” said the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder. “I got to sit with coach London and break down film of their defense and got to spend a bunch of time with the players and other recruits. I thought it would be the coaches pressuring me the most, but it was actually all the players who wanted me to come to Virginia. I didn’t commit, but it was tempting a bit.”

Ellis took an official visit to Maryland last weekend and has a mid-week trip to Tennessee that begins on Monday. Then it’s off to Virginia Tech the following weekend, followed by a trip to NC State the next weekend if he needs it.
“I liked UVA a little better than Maryland just because there was a lot more going on” he said. “That’s not Maryland’s fault, but I just felt better at UVA. The bar has been raised quite a bit and it’s up to the rest to reach it. I have a feeling that Tennessee and especially Tech will do that though.”
Ellis is ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia and is the No. 7 weak-side defensive end in the country.
