Ellis Moving Dates

Hampton (Va.) Bethel defensive end Chris Ellis had set four of his official visit dates, but now needs to switch them around a bit.
"I was scheduled to visit Tennessee on Nov. 29 but I forgot I was going to the Virginia Tech-Virginia game on that day," said the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder. "I told Tennessee I can't make it and I would re-schedule for Jan. 24. They weren't very happy about that because they thought I'd be committed by then."

Ellis said he'll probably take the SAT on Dec. 7 and then go on his official visit to Tennessee after.
"I'll probably be in Knoxville on Dec. 7, 8 and 9," he said. "I didn't want to take a visit that weekend, but I'll do it."
After that, Ellis heads to Virginia Tech on Dec. 13, Maryland on Jan. 10 and Virginia on Jan. 17.
"I'm talking with a few other schools like NC State and Penn State and Syracuse about a fifth visit, but I don't think I'll need one," he said. "I feel good about these four teams."
Ellis still has the same leader.
"It's still Virginia Tech for me," he said. "Virginia wanted me to move my visit up because they were worried that I'd commit to Tech on my visit. I promised Coach (Mike) London that I won't commit until I take my UVA trip."
Virginia is Ellis' second choice.
"I really like the coaches there and I'm starting to see how the 3-4 defense can work," he said. "I'd prefer to stay in state and those two are my favorites, but I'm going to look hard at all four. I want good football, academics and to feel comfortable."
