Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland tight end Brian Ellis is one of the nation’s top tight end prospects and has the offers to prove it. He already has one official visit set up and could be close to setting up two more.
“I have an official visit set up to Florida State for January 7 for sure,” Ellis said. “I am getting ready to set up visits with Central Florida, LSU and Florida too I think. I haven’t decided who will get my fifth visit right now.”
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Ellis runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds and has a 300-pound bench press. Even after the firing of Ron Zook, Florida remains one of the top schools on his list.
“I hate it that coach Zook got fired, but I don’t know if it will really effect my decision much,” Ellis said. “I hope some of the assistants get to stay, but if they don’t I will still look at Florida. I just want to play early wherever I go.”
