Ellis has a final six

It's all down to six schools for the services of four-star rated Rivals100 defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis as the offer count has continued to rise.
The 6-foot-5, 318-pound No. 5 rated defensive tackle in the nation has decided that after pulling in offers from Oklahoma, South Carolina, Florida and Louisville to name a few, that it was time to let a few schools know that they were in the race and a few others they were out.

"My list has all the Florida schools in it and then Oklahoma, LSU, and South Carolina," Ellis said. "Those are the six that I'm basically looking at from here on out."
One small note to his list is that not every school has offered. Florida State, LSU, and Miami are schools he is confident about.
"Miami basically told me that they don't offer a lot of guys unless they've been loking at them for years," Ellis said. "If I decide that's where I want to go, then I think they'll offer."
"Florida State is an iffy situation but I'm still looking at them. LSU is the same thing in that I'm interested in them and now we'll see if they're interested in me."
Three of the schools that have offered made his final six for different reasons.
"South Carolina I'm interested in because I've got that chance to play early," Ellis said. "Oklahoma's coaches have been telling me that I'd be surrounded by great players and a chance to compete. LSU is in the SEC with great tradition."
This is not the last cut on his schedule. Ellis plans to get his final list down to four and then take trips.
"I'm thinking about deciding after my senior year," Ellis said. "I'll pick my final four teams, take those four for sure, and then decide. I don't know when I'll be narrowing down my list again."
Plainly put, this defender just wants to fit in with his pick.
"The biggest factor is just how I feel around the coaches and the players," he said. "It also has to be a good program because I'm accepting a football scholarship."
